Rajasthan Technical University (RTU) is an affiliating university located in Kota in the state of Rajasthan, India. The university was established in 2006. RTU is based in the campus of the University Engineering College, Kota, in the city of Kota, approximately 500 kilometres (310 mi) from New Delhi. RTU is an affiliating university. Its affiliated colleges offer the degrees of Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech), Master of Technology (M.Tech), Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Computer Applications (MCA) and Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT). As of April 2011, RTU affiliates 202 colleges. B.Tech degrees are offered at nine government aided institutes and 109 are private ones.[2] MBA degrees are offered at seven government aided institutes and 122 are private ones.[3] MCA degrees are offered in at seven government aided institutes and 25 are private ones.[4] M.Tech is offered in 24 colleges and BHMCT in four colleges. In addition, two colleges offer Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) degrees.

• Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology.

• Admissions are made through JEE Mains followed by counselling.

• Set Up by Govt. of Rajasthan to enhance technical education in Rajasthan.
• The university is situated on Kota-Rawatbhata Road, about 10 Km from Kota Bus Stand and 14 Kms from Kota railway station.
• The university aims to cater almost all discipline related to technical education in Rajasthan.

• Separate training and placement cell.
• Has a well established department of training and placement which has developed linkages with various leading industries, private and public sector companies, and other institutions to facilitate and assist students to get proper training and placement.
• The department acts as a liaison between prospective employers and students seeking employment.
• Conducts campus interviews, placement talks and extension lectures from time to time.
• About 34.83% of students are able to get placed through campus interviews by leading firms in current year 2013-14.
