The Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology (ZHCET) is a college within the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) in Uttar Pradesh, India.Established in 1938 It was renamed after Zakir Husain, President of India (1967–69), who is an alumnus of AMU and was its Vice-Chancellor from 1948 to 1956. The college offers courses at the undergraduate, postgraduate and research level. The language of instruction in all courses is English. There are eleven associated academic departments. Zakir Husain College of Engineering has been ranked 21st[9] in India's best Engineering Colleges 2015 by India Today and 35th in Top Engineering Colleges 2015 by Outlook India, Outlook also ranked it 1st among Government owned institutions in terms of ROI and 10th among all in terms of student to faculty ratio.It was ranked 60 out of the top 75 Engineering Colleges of India in 2012 by Outlook India and 51st in top 100 Engineering Schools of India by Dataquest in 2005.
